Immersion Tracker is a local-first tool. Everything stays on your device. No accounts, no servers, no tracking.

This policy describes what data the Immersion Tracker Chrome Extension stores, where it is stored, and what it does not collect. The extension is built for personal language-learning use and has no server-side component of any kind.

All data lives in your browser. The extension uses the browser's built-in chrome.storage.local API. Data is stored on your device and never leaves it not to Immersion Tracker servers, not to any third party.

What data is stored

YouTube watch time, Per-video watch time tracked automatically on youtube.com. Stored as video IDs and durations. No titles are fetched from external APIs and no viewing history is transmitted anywhere.

Manual immersion entries, Durations and categories logged by you through the popup or dashboard (e.g. "Audio · 45 min"). Stored with a timestamp and the label you chose.

Session timer records, Start time, end time, and optional label of each session you run. Used to calculate daily and weekly totals.

Settings and preferences, Your display language, theme, daily goal, YouTube handle (used as a label only, never verified or looked up), and other UI preferences.

Challenges, Any immersion challenges you create: name, target hours, start date. No connection to external services.

All of the above can be exported as JSON or CSV from the Dashboard and deleted in full via the Global Reset option in Dashboard → Export & Reset.

Where it is stored

Your browser, and only your browser. Storage happens through chrome.storage.local, which is tied to your browser profile on your device. Data does not sync across devices via Chrome Sync. If you uninstall the extension, the data is deleted along with it (unless you have exported a backup first).

No cloud, no account, no backend. There is no user account system, no registration, and no server that receives any data. The extension makes no outbound network requests of its own.

What is not collected

No personal identity data, No name, email address, IP address, or device identifier is collected. The YouTube handle field is a plain text label and is never used to identify or look up your account.

No analytics or telemetry, No usage analytics, error reporting, or crash logs are sent anywhere. The extension contains no analytics SDK (no Google Analytics, Sentry, Mixpanel, or equivalent).

No browsing history outside YouTube, The content script runs only on *.youtube.com pages. No other websites are observed or recorded.

No third-party data sharing, Data is not sold, shared, or disclosed to any third party under any circumstances.
